Commitment: 40 hours per week

Salary: $100,000 per year and exempt 

Report to: Executives, CEO

About I'RAISE:

I'RAISE Girls & Boys International Corporation, founded in 2012 in the heart of the North Bronx, began as a mentorship program aimed at at-risk female youth living in New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) facilities. With the visionary leadership of CEO Shanequa Moore, the organization expanded its impact, moving from a mentorship focus to addressing the critical need for mental health support for youth in public schools.


Today, I'RAISE is committed to fostering resilience, promoting well-being, and empowering youth through culturally responsive programs and advocacy for equity in mental healthcare. Through its work, I'RAISE is creating lasting social change for vulnerable children and families.


Position Summary: 

The Executive Director (ED) is the chief executive officer of iRAISE and is responsible for the overall strategic, operational, and financial health of the organization. The ED will work closely with the Board of Directors to drive the mission forward, oversee program implementation, and ensure financial sustainability. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic and results-driven leader with a strong background in nonprofit management, financial oversight, business operations, and strategic growth.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership & Strategy

    • Develop and execute a strategic vision that aligns with iRAISE’s mission and long-term goals.

    • Work closely with the Board of Directors to establish policies, strategic priorities, and governance best practices.

    • Represent iRAISE in the community, building partnerships with stakeholders, donors, government agencies, and other nonprofit organizations.

    • Foster a strong organizational culture centered on accountability, collaboration, and equity.

  • Financial Management & Fund Development

    • Oversee the financial health of the organization, ensuring fiscal responsibility, budgeting, and compliance with nonprofit financial regulations.

    • Develop and implement sustainable revenue strategies, including grants, corporate partnerships, individual donor cultivation, and earned income opportunities.

    • Monitor financial performance, prepare reports for the Board, and ensure strong financial controls and risk management practices.

    • Identify and secure new funding sources to diversify revenue streams and support program expansion.

  • Operational & Program Management

    • Ensure effective and efficient day-to-day operations, optimizing internal processes and resource allocation.

    • Oversee program development, implementation, and evaluation to ensure high-quality service delivery.

    • Manage organizational infrastructure, including human resources, technology, and compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

    • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and measure impact to improve service delivery and operational effectiveness.

  • Team Leadership & Development

    • Recruit, mentor, and retain a high-performing team committed to I’RAISE’s mission.

    • Foster a positive, inclusive, and high-performance work environment.

    • Provide professional development opportunities for staff to enhance skills and leadership capabilities.

    • External Relations & Advocacy

    • Serve as the primary spokesperson for iRAISE, advocating for policies and initiatives that align with the organization’s mission.

    • Build relationships with key stakeholders, including policymakers, funders, media, and community leaders.

    • Develop marketing, branding, and communication strategies to increase the organization’s visibility and impact.


  • Qualifications & Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Nonprofit Management, Public Administration, Finance, or a related field required. Master’s degree preferred.

    • Minimum of 7–10 years of leadership experience in nonprofit management, business operations, or a related sector.

    • Experience leading a nonprofit with a budget of $1M+ is highly preferred.

    • Proven ability to develop and manage multimillion-dollar budgets, oversee financial reporting, and ensure compliance with nonprofit financial regulations.

    • Strong experience in organizational management, including HR, IT, compliance, and process optimization.

    • Demonstrated ability to develop revenue streams, manage donor relationships, and secure corporate and philanthropic funding.

    • Experience developing and executing strategic plans with measurable outcomes.

    • Exceptional leadership and management skills, with a track record of building and motivating high-performing teams.

    • Proven success in securing and managing grants, fundraising campaigns, and corporate partnerships.

    • Ability to build strong relationships with community stakeholders, government agencies, and nonprofit partners.

    • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills with the ability to inspire and influence diverse audiences.
