I’RAISE Girls & Boys International Corporation is a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit Organization in New York City. Our new Afterschool Program at Storefront Academy is looking for two (2) dedicated, committed, and enthusiastic Afterschool Program Director to lead our Afterschool Program in the Bronx location.

The After-School Program Director(s) will assist in leading and operating a comprehensive after-school program for children throughout the school year, from the end of the school day to 6pm daily. The Program Director(s) will also be responsible for directing the development and implementation of age and grade-appropriate curriculum for our after-school and summer programs.


Role Description: 

As a Community Department Program Director, you will oversee and handle key programs under the Community Department at I’RAISE.This includes our community programs, tutoring & mentoring programs, coaching program, virtual academy program, after school programs, Gen-Z program, and any applicable program under Community Department


Responsibilities breakdown:

  • Community Program/Service Development & Management

    • Spearhead the annual program planning process for the Community Department, ensuring alignment with our mission, goals, and the specific needs of partner schools.

    • Oversee programs in various locations, including New York City and Atlanta, Georgia, ensuring consistency and quality across all sites.

    • Establish and maintain robust structures for all programs, both in-person and remote, by implementing clear policies, protocols, and processes.

    • Analyze program strengths and weaknesses, develop solutions, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.

    • Collaborate with the Executive Team, HR, After-School & School Departments, and Marketing to ensure seamless program execution and alignment with organizational goals.

  • Afterschool Program/Service Development & Management: 

    • Oversee the after-school program, ensuring quality education and youth development for all participants.

    • Maintain strong relationships with school staff and parents, organizing orientations, meetings, and events to foster community engagement.

    • Collaborate with the Schools Facilities Director to ensure program space safety and compliance with SACC requirements.

  • Collaboration & Communication: 

    • Plan and host art showcases, performances, and events for students and parents with your team.

  • Funding & Financial Management:

    • Develop compelling funding proposals, budgets, and evaluation frameworks to ensure program sustainability and compliance with policies.

    • Assist the Executive Team with grant writing efforts and participate in fundraising activities.

    • Monitor and approve program expenditures within budget, analyze cash flow projections, and report variances to the Executive Team.

    • Ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial reports and supporting documentation per funding agreements.

    • Manage site expenses and support funding/grant applications to maintain quality program implementation.

  • Strategic Planning & Quality Assurance:

    •  Develop and implement a strategic plan for Community Department programs, including conducting needs assessments to identify school-specific requirements.

    • Conduct regular program audits to verify adherence to state regulations and I'RAISE policies and procedures.

  • Data & Records Management:

    • Oversee the collection and maintenance of client records, ensuring compliance with confidentiality and privacy policies.

    • Ensure effective systems for data compilation and student tracking for program evaluation and reporting.

  • Team Development: 

    • Collaborate with Executive Officers and HR to recruit, interview, and select qualified staff, including volunteers and interns.

    • Ensure proper maintenance of personnel records, including performance evaluations, orientation materials, and training records.

  • Community Engagement & Advocacy:

    • Communicate effectively with clients, school personnel, and elected officials to gather feedback and continuously refine programs.

    • Maintain strong relationships with school personnel and elected officials to ensure program effectiveness and efficiency.

  • Training & Supervision: 

    • Provide training and development opportunities for the program team, overseeing out-of-school and in-school community programs.

    • Oversee the development and implementation of age-appropriate curriculums for after-school and summer programs, ensuring alignment with SACC regulations.

    • Ensure all staff complete mandatory training as required by OCFS.

    • Assist with student recruitment for after-school programs and oversee the development of instructional plans for each grade level.


Qualifications/Skills: 

  • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Work or related field; 3+ years equivalent

  • Experience working with youth and managing a youth program. Or Master's degree in Education,

  • Social Work or related field; with 2+ years experience working with youth and managing a youth program.

  • Strong interpersonal, team development, organizational, and management skills.

  • Current CPR/First Aid certification.

  • Experience working in after school/summer camp administration

  • Experience working with NYS OCFS, DOE contracts preferred.

  • Must completeOCFS-6000 packet process, and DOE clearance


Technology requirement: Comfortable communicating via email and phone, proficient in Microsoft-suite and Google Workspace (G-suite). This job may require the use of a laptop or computer and phone
