Dalamu Sherpa is a proud Nepali American representing the South Asian community, currently serving as Executive Officer of Operations, Finance, and HR at I'RAISE Girls & Boys International Corporation.
Originally from Nepal, Dalamu is a first-generation college graduate who earned a Master of Science in Management from Fordham University’s Gabelli School of Business. Her academic journey has fueled her passion for positive leadership, operational management, and attracting top talent to promote growth and development.
In the past 2.5+ years, Dalamu has excelled in HR leadership as the HR Director at I'RAISE Girls & Boys International, a non-profit based in New York City. She has played a pivotal role in recruiting top-tier professionals, who provide essential mental health and educational services to over 500 youth in partnership with the NYC Department of Education. Dalamu has also developed strong partnerships with NYC universities and colleges, providing over 200 students with professional development through internships and volunteer opportunities. She has mentored more than 10 students in HR, with 70% successfully launching their careers in the field.
Beyond her work, Dalamu is deeply committed to her community. As a former President and Vice President Executive Board Member of the Network of Sherpa Students and Professionals (NSSPUSA), she has organized numerous initiatives to empower Sherpa Himalayan youth, including career panels, cultural workshops, and college preparation activities.
In her spare time, she volunteers with NSSPUSA, the United Sherpa Associations (NYC), and other non-profits. Notably, she has been an ice skating coach with Born to Rise, leveraging her 7 years of skating experience to inspire young people for over 3 years. Additionally, her experience as a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer in Thailand has deepened her commitment to service.
